It contains the oldest rainforests in the world; this is home to the only Asian ape and Orang-utan’s. Borneo is the third largest island in the world, which is divided into 3 countries: Indonesia, Brunei and Malaysia. Kinabalu is the highest mountain in South East Asia at 4,095m. It has pristine white sandy beaches, surrounded by the South China Sea and contains some excellent marine life.

We will spend 3 weeks on this fascinating island, in the Malaysian Sabah region. This will include 5 days working on a community and eco-project in the Kinabatangan river area. This is followed by a 3-day jungle trek, immersing you in the rainforest and sleeping in hammocks. The team will then climb Mt Kinabalu, spending a night in a mountain hut before reaching the summit at dawn for what will hopefully be an amazing sunrise! The expedition will conclude with a rest and relaxation phase on the beaches, giving the team an opportunity to go snorkelling amongst the fish in crystal clear water.
