Climate Pledge

CLIMATE PLEDGE

Support local communities by;

  • Employing in-country agents, trek guides and crews, as well as local people to support our project team.
  • Put money into the local economy through buying food, equipment, and using local accommodation and transport.

Community lead projects;

  • What the community needs or benefits the environment.
  • Sustainable community projects that stands the test of time, and are ongoing and ethical
  • We have created a tree plantation project in Tanzania called “Rundugai Regrowth”

Reduce plastic in county

  • Affiliated partners with Travelers Against Plastic (TAP) and promote their work and pledge to schools, travellers and the wider travel industry.
  • Encourage schools and students not to use single-use plastic when they travel. A water purification system and their own reusable bottle ensures that their water is always safe to drink AND protects the environment.

Sustainable travel

  • Where possible we use public transport, or transport appropriate for the number of people travelling.
  • All our expeditions are carbon offset
  • All our flights are 100% carbon offset with 20% being offset by Climate impact and 80% being offset on Global Footprints Worldwide projects
  • We calculate carbon offsetting at £12.50 per tCO2e

Positive Impacts of Carbon Offsetting

  • We have partnered with Climate Impact to offset 20% of all our flights to support their sustainable projects and support millions of lives around the world
  • We have also partnered up with TAP (Travellers against plastic) to donate money on every expedition we deliver to help the work with TAP and SEE Turtles.
  • Create awareness and education with all our in country agents and partners

Positive impacts in country

  • School classrooms, accommodation, offices and water pumps built in Tanzania and Bolivia.
  • Church built in Bolivia
  • Volunteers house built in Borneo
  • Beach clean-ups in Borneo, Thailand and Tanzania
  • Mangroves cleared in Borneo
  • Tree plantation project started in Tanzania
